today i was finally able to legally change my name on important government documents. so yes, i am officially melanie lynn hansen. my marriage certificate from hawaii barely arrived. warning to all you ladies thinking of taking your husband's last name - it is quite a bit of work. i was at the social security office for forever this afternoon. got that taken care of, but i have to wait 24 hours before i can change my driver's license. i have to change it with school & get a new id card, i need to change it at work and fill out new withholding forms, get a new work email address, and a new name plaque for my cubie (my biz cards were all ready updated). some of my credit cards let me change my name without any proof (kinda scary) and so did my car insurance. but i still need to get my bank stuff done too. aaaghh, as if i don't have enough stuff to do.
hmm, what else? lots i guess. but i don't feel like getting into it. i really should catch up on my homework.

YAY! Thats cool that you are legal now.
I bet it is a pain in the neck to change everything. I am so not looking forward to it.
