the quiet things that no one ever knows

i was organizing some old vhs tapes when i came across the senior slide show. since my father-in-law was the one that made it, we are the keepers of the original tape. i've watched it before but i had forgotten we still had it. so i put it in and watched my high school days go by. weird...

if you could, would you go back? i guess it was fun. had some good friends, had some good times, some fun memories, had some drama, some unbelievable drama. i think that sums up high school. drama.

why is high school like that? is it because we are kids trying to be adults? if i only knew then what i know now. so cliche but so true. could have saved a lot of heart ache. i know some people now that although they are in college and in their mid-twenties, they are still going through things that happened in high school. glad that is behind me.

now i am an old lady who is too worn out on a friday night to go out with the girls. who has to get out of bed on a saturday to clean house and put dishes away and balance the checkbook and plan the meals for the week and make sure we have enough dollars for groceries. then somehow manage to get in some "lazy time" with the hubby before getting all the homework that has piled up done.

i guess i would go back to high school for easier times. so dependent on my parents back then but such an ungrateful brat. took them for granted. i would leave out some of the drama. but then again, without it, i never would have found my true love. life is weird like that. we had to go through a bunch of crap in order to be who were are today. two people in love, forever...

"call me a safe bet, i betting i'm not, glad that you can forgive, only hoping as times goes you can forget, so you can forget."

So very true. High School was fun but I am not sure if I'd do it again.

However I would like to see that tape. I don't know where my copy went (or if I ever even got a copy).
