no clever title today

don't see the movie the hills have eyes!! it was horrible. not in the funny kind of horrible like freddy vs. jason or whatever. this was was horrible in the worst sort of way. i literally came out of the movie traumatized. i'll even admit it, i cried because it upset me. somethings that makes horror movies fun to watch is the element of surprise, shock, a little bit of gore but mostly the implied stuff. you don't always want to see everything, you want to leave it to your own imagination because sometimes that is even worse than anything they could show you. well not this movie. it showed you everything. a murdered pet, a rape, a breast-feeding mom assaulted in the worst way, and on and on. these are things that shouldn't be touched. it was harsh. i literally had tears in my eyes and stomach acid in my throat.

what really scarred me the most was the fact that a mom and dad were sitting in the 4th row of the theater with their two small children that were too young to be there but old enough to remember. probably 3 or 4. what kind of parent takes their kids to a movie that was so graphic a 23-year-old gets traumatized? a parent's job is to shelter their kids from these kinds of things as long as possible. that is why they have the rating systems. rated r should mean something to them. i remember how my mom would cover my eyes when watching any movie that showed bad things. a child's mind is so impressionable. the amount of gore and the crimes committed in this movie are nothing a child should have to see. ever. how could they do that to those poor little boys? it really, really upset me. even more than some scenes in the movie.

so don't see it. period.
