wow. complete lack of bloggage by all parties.
and what's with this weather? last night linc and i were just discussing how it wasn't as cold as it has been. and then today happened. my fingers are frigging freezing!!
update on the happenings of 2007 (all 19 days of it) and the end of 2006. 2006 ended quite well. good family bonding.
beginning of 2007, not horrible but nothing all fabulous either. couple good points - 1) the house finally has a permit and is on the construction schedule and 2) vincent and family are moving back to az from tx. yay!!
linc and i have started the south beach diet. not necessarily to lose weight (although a few pounds in the middle wouldn't hurt) for me, but more for better eating habits. i've always had a finicky stomach but this last year it seemed to get a lot worse. so i am on a mission to cure myself with healthy dietary habits rather than medication. and if i lose some weight, more power to me. linc wants to lose a few pounds. he does have a goal weight in mind. weight just melts off him once he eats right, but he has a killer sweet tooth and no sense of a full tummy. the boy eats until everyone's plate is clean.
work has been pretty yucky lately. it is our year end which is 100x worse than a normal month end. everyone is a bit pickier on things since this is our final report of financial standings for a fiscal year. so on top of normal month end things, we have our extra research type things for year end. reclassing from one account to another based on what we think the auditors would like to see. and then on top of all that, i still have my monthly sales tax returns for 3 states plus 2 quarterly state returns. and then on top of all that (see the mountain this is making!), they "transferred" a coworker to another department and until we hire a new person, i have the brunt of her workload. i've been putting in a lot of hours the last 3 weeks of the new year, which is great dollar-wise (yay, overtime!) but sucks for me. i get home later, go to work earlier. sit hunched over forms with numbers or double computer screens with more numbers or in front of a gazillion emails that are all urgent questioning why numbers are in this account and not in that (i don't know, maybe because that's where you told me to put it in the first place!). it's all good. :)
and one more thing to add to this work mountain, we are moving into a new building soon. it was supposed to be next week but the building is nowhere near ready. they (mgmt) won't give us a definite move in date so we have to get all our ish together like we are moving next week. accountants are pack rats. we have to be. so we had a ton of boxes to pack up and find someplace to store. not nearly as much as A/P who had over 300 boxes of paperwork. madness! and to think all this stuff is scanned and stored on our network.
other stuff...
grey's anatomy is such an awesome show. i love thursdays. we watch smallville and tape the office to view after greys which we watch after smallville. my 3 most favorite shows. right behind, actually a five way tie, is prison break and bones. then following up is law and order svu. if i had more time and maybe tivo i would watch ugly betty and men in trees (which i watched when it was on friday's and it was happy/cute).
hmmm.... i guess that is all. i am going to start dinner since i know linky logs is on his way home.
