it has been awhile since my last post. sorry jana :) for the past few weeks i have been busy with some of my other enjoyments.
i read 5 books: love in the time of cholera by gabrial garcia marquez, something borrowed by emily griffin, remember me? by sophie kinsella, a curse dark as gold by elizabeth c. bunce, and the time traveler's wife by audrey niffenegger. i enjoyed them all for their own reasons and would recommend them to anyone. common theme : love. warnings: unexpected (and most often, unnecessary) bad language, adultery, and a baby stealer. thanks to susan and larry (mom and dad hansen) for contributing to my library fund.
i watched several movies: the other boleyn girl, gone baby gone, pirates of the carribean part 3, waitress, awake and many more (i just can't remember. i know lincoln and i literally rented 10 movies a couple weeks ago). recommend them all. again common theme is love (not just the romantic kind, family love included). warnings: language, lying, cheating, not all happy endings.
i continued training for the triathlon that is sneaking up on me. after several ill-fated attempts of running with my orthotics designed to keep my old lady feet from getting older, i removed the inserts and ran 2 miles, perhaps the farthest i have ever ran (at least in recent memory. i have never been a fan of running). my biking has suffered due to several poor excuses and some valid ones but hopefully i will get my rear in gear and get out there and enjoy the beautiful spring weather while it is still here.
i helped lincoln with our front yard landscaping. the front yard is nearly complete. i think a boulder will be added to this empty spot that has been nagging at us. our grass is gorgeous and we get compliments on it daily. thanks to all the siblings, nephews, nieces, parents, and random neighbor guy that helped. well, the random neighbor guy didn't really help. he would just come and stand there and talk and talk and talk. he reminds lincoln of the neighbor kid from home alone that asks a million questions.
we added some springtime flowers to the front as well. i have a new favorite: gerber daisies. we put a pot of them by our front door so every morning when i leave to work i am greeted by their happy colorful faces. brightens my day.
i went to an oakland a's spring training game. the game itself was uneventful. the lack of parking, the heat, the cost of refreshments (water, geez, i am not raging), and the mysterious food item that was left under a seat to cook in the midday sun (it looked something like a cooked baby finger) were the highlights of the work outing. oh well, it was an excuse to be out of my office pod and enjoying the sun.
and to cap off this action packed last few weeks, i have come down with some form of stomach flu. it all started tuesday and i have yet to recover. stomach flu is my least favorite ailment. i would take a million other sicknesses over stomach flu. although i have lost 5+ pounds since tuesday. but i am starving and would much rather be 5 pounds plumper than suffering from hunger induced delusions.
there. you are all now up to date.

well done, my pet
Looks like you had to update your blog too! At least you were only behind 1 month. Mine was behind 1 year! Hahaha!
Good luck on training for the triathalon! I'm sure you'll do great! Keep us posted on how the training goes; you may inspire me to get my butt out and jog/bike/swim, etc. =)
