a hundred million suns

random update:

last thursday, i was pulled over for the first time ever in my driving history. sure, i've been in the passenger seat several times when another person was pulled over. and i did get my picture taken once (about 5 years ago) by a red light camera (i was making a left and felt i was in the intersection and had to go in order to not block traffic). i went to traffic school for it, although everyone told me to just ignore it. but perhaps it was legit and it is my public duty to obey traffic laws (driving is a privilege) and pay the fines if i choose to break them.

anyway - so last thursday. i was driving home from work. normally once off the freeway, i take pecos down to power (or to higley then germann). this time i decided to take greenfield to germann then make the left. it is a rink-a-dink intersection with a backup of vehicles and no left turn arrow. the light is turning yellow so i gun it and make my left. i cut off a car (who i thought was a lot farther back and would have had to stop since it was turning red). well, the car i cut off was an unmarked police car. of course. a little ways down the road they pull me over. at first i wasn't even sure it was me they were pulling over. after a stern verbal warning and me shaking like a fool, i was let go. only to get somewhat stuck in the mud and "peel out" as i was pulling back into traffic.

yesterday i decided that my poor pico needs to be put on a strict diet and exercise program. no extra treats (veggies are ok, he loves carrots!) and daily walks. when anyone sees the poor pup they always comment on his stoutness. i guess a 19lb chihuahua is a bit much but he carries it well. i really love my pups and want them to live a long and happy life so pico needs to lose a little weight.

as soon as i got home i got them ready for their walk. they just hear that word and they get so excited. we made a nice big loop around the community. myla is an idiot on the leash and was getting me pretty frazzled. we saw two ups trucks go by and both times they started jumping up wildly to get a look at the driver because they thought it was lincoln. i think they recognize the sound.

we even ran between .5 and .75 miles. myla loves it, pico tries to keep up, i'm just happy to be able to run without crazy leg pain.

later in the evening, i went to clip pico's nails (which he absolutely hates) and i noticed that his "big toe" nail was cracked. in a really bad, painful spot. from the run. poor puppy. he has been excused from his daily walks until it heals.

i just re-discovered a classic band: snow patrol. a few years ago their cd "eyes open" was on repeat at my house. today i heard the singer on the radio talking about their show in tempe tonight. reminded me of their awesomeness. they will resume their spot at the top of my playlist, followed by the twilight soundtrack, weezer, maroon5, and john mayer. michael buble makes guest appearances when i'm in the mood for that. plus random songs i hear on the radio that i download. by the way - amazon is way cheaper then itunes... now you know. :)

i have been desperately trying to get into the christmas carol spirit with no luck. i just can't do it. which makes me sad because normally i have it blasting by thanksgiving.

ahh Pico how I long to do arm curls with your tub! I love that booger.

Why do we spell it booger, when it rhymes with sugar? We should spell it bugar. Or sooger.

Don't break the law anymore, heathen.
