thanksgiving = pie + twilight

two sunday's ago, sister in law erin and i went to see twilight. i even re-read the book friday before, just so it was fresh in my mind. not going to spoil it for anyone that hasn't seen it yet. but i had heard from a few other fans that it is a movie that needs to be seen more than once to appreciate it. so this past sunday night, i dragged lincoln to see it. definitely better the second go-round. and although lincoln didn't love it, his words were "it wasn't baaaaddd..." it did make a nice ending for the long weekend.

the other main part of my thanksgiving was pie. lots and lots of pie. my first attempt at an apple pie was a success and probably one of the best dang apple pies i've ever tasted! my home-made crust was tasty (crisco based). a little deformed, but tasty. i cannot for the life of me roll an actual circular crust. always oval. oh well.

well... for the last couple of nights i have had trouble sleeping. 2 reasons. pie and twilight. i had awful dreams about edward cullen. kept startling myself awake. they dreams didn't make any sense but he was very scary. beautiful, but scary.

then i would dream about pumpkin pie. first it wouldn't cook in the middle and would be a runny mess. then i would burn it. then there was just so many pies and i kept eating and eating and they just kept re-appearing.

silly really... now i'm a bit embarrassed for mentioning it...

oh well. here's some pictures of my desserts:

lemon meringue

apple

deformed pumpkin "roll"

pumpkin

chocolate turtle cheesecake

Your post makes me really wish I had eaten more pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving. Your pies looked delicious!!!
I was the same with Twilight. I enjoyed it the first time, but was disappointed about some stuff. The second time I watched it, I was able to look past the stuff that disappointed me the first time and I really enjoyed it! Weird, huh?!
