we've had some interesting moments in this first month. i'm amazed at how quickly it went by. and how big she's gotten. she's too squirmy to let me measure her length (she's noticeably longer than her birth length of 21in) but i weighed her on our scale at home and she was 12lbs.
she's starting to sleep for longer periods at night. but she still always wakes up at midnight for at least 2 hours. we had our best and worst nights this past week. one where she wouldn't sleep at all. she acted hungry but wouldn't eat. none of the normal tricks to calm her worked. i was in tears. i even woke linc up to hold her until i calmed down. then the next night she slept for almost 4 hours straight. i didn't. kept checking to make sure she was breathing.
we met lincoln for lunch everyday last week. the route he was doing was ten mins away so it was nice to venture out. we even visited aunt judy to keep her company while she is on bed rest waiting for cousin vivia to arrive (jan. 18th).
some things to note for the baby book:
she refuses to be swaddled and always manages to free a hand or leg.
socks never stay on, no matter the size.
she's finally started nursing au naturale. i was having to use a plastic nipple which essentially turned me into a human bottle. i kept trying to nurse without it. but she wouldn't even try. then one day she did and hasn't looked back. we're still working out the kinks.
she's a mama's girl. as soon as she hears me or sees me, no one stands a chance.
she likes her swing more than her vibrating chair.
she prefers classical music to contemporary.
she likes looking at herself in the mirror.
linc likes to get in her face and say "i'm your daddy" in case she's inclined to forget.
she hates her diaper even being slightly damp and is very vocal about it. but she can sit in a poopy one forever. oh, and she is the noisiest tooter. it's shocking.
she enjoys car rides and walks in her carrier/car seat, but isn't too sure about the baby bjorn.
and most importantly, she is the sweetest, prettiest, perfect 1 month baby ever, and she's all mine.

That is so great about the breast feeding!! Good for you! And I love the part about Lincoln telling her "I am your Daddy" too funny!
Oh, this blog made me teary eyed. But I guess that is what gramma's do!:)
She is beautiful. I loved reading about her events and milestones. I hope to see her soon.
