3 months

Baby Beans is 3 months today. She is roughly 16.5lbs and 27 inches. She is sleeping 6 hours at night. Then I wake her for a meal and then she’ll sleep 3-4 more. She still is a night owl and never seems to go down for the night until 11pm or later. She gets that from us though. She is still a calm and easy baby. Even now, with her stuffy nose and rash, she still is extremely pleasant and sweet. She has taken to the bottle pretty easily. It’s still not her first choice but she’ll take it without complaint.

She smiles when she sees us. She is starting to laugh out loud. She can hold her head up strong and almost sit up without being propped up or supported. She likes to stand and dance around. She is very vocal and will sit in your lap and tell you stories. She can hold toys and has learned to put things in her mouth. She loves chewing on one of her own hands while the other hand is stroking her hair, which is getting nice and full. When I was little I used to suck my thumb while twirling my fingers in my mom’s hair (or in anybody’s that would let me).

Last night as I rocked her to sleep, I tried singing Hush Little Baby but I always forget the words. So I was making things up as I went. She was watching me the whole time and would giggle whenever I would come up with a new rhyme. Coincidence? Probably. Absolutely adorable? Of course!

She’s been home with Lincoln this week. He surprised me Tuesday by bringing her to work. It was the highlight of my day, my week. He put her in a pretty little dress & bloomers (which I just got for her, and poor thing! The bloomers are too tight on her chunky thighs!). After he left, I had my first “work cry”.

Going back to work has been one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. I took her to the sitter’s the Friday before I had to start back at work. I had hoped it would make the transition easier for both of us. I bawled before I even left the house. Linc and I were sitting at the table. Gemma was in her carrier, asleep and ready to go. Linc put his hand on mine for comfort. Then our sweet pup-a-lup Myla came over and put her paws on our hands, letting us know it was all going to be ok.

I’ve been incredibly distracted at work. I keep looking at all my pictures and Lincoln has sent me a few videos of her. Plus, I am not cut out for this pumping at work nonsense. Fortunately, my work has 2 pumping rooms (I’m the only new mom in the building though). I hate feeling like a milk cow. But it’s the best thing for her, so I’ll do it. Not gonna lie, my ultimate goal is to be able to stay home with her. The sooner the better. But BoTE, it might take awhile.
