Gemma is 8 months old today!

Weight hovering around 22lbs

Crawls like a champ (and gets into everything!).

Stands.

Walks using the couch as support.

Sings.

Loves tubbies.

Has fallen off the bed once, under daddy's watch.

Is still the prettiest, sweetest, most specialest, perfect baby ever.

Lincoln and I celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary on aug. 2nd. it is also the 13th anniversary of when we first started dating. we celebrated with a movie then an early dinner at outback. my parents and 2 younger siblings hung out with gemma. we ended the night with netflix, cheesecake, and champagne (which is a tradition of ours - minus the netflix- but i think after this year, we might ixnay it, both of us didn't feel that great after).

fun little story - we had jana take some family pictures of us a weekend or so before the anniversary at the same park we had our wedding announcement shots done. i emailed her secretly and asked if she could rush a family one to me so i could have it enlarged and hung up as a gift for lincoln. we emailed back and forth a few times and i decided on the picture above. my plan was to pick it up from costco and get a frame at michaels on my way home from work and picking up gem. but it just so happened that this particular week lincoln was getting home really early so my time was cut short. i'm not the best keeper of secrets from lincoln. i tend to try to come up with my story before hand so i'm not caught off guard. in the end, i broke down due to frazzlement days before the anniversary and he got his gift early (which he absolutely loves). i also enlarged one from our wedding on the beach.

anyway, back to the story. so lincoln decides it would be funny to call jana and act like he wants to do the same thing as a gift for me. she totally goes along with it, like the good sister she is. she shares the story with a few people, thinking how funny it will be when we give each other the same gift!
