today was my first day officially as a SAHM. it was a productive and tiring day. plus i'm still trying to catch up on my sleep (i have a horrible habit of staying up way too late, even when i know i need to get up early the next day).
i was able to sleep in until after 7 (my work schedule had me getting up around 5-530). linc handled the first bottle and diaper change. then we ate breakfast together and off he went to work. gemma seemed to be a little confused as to why he wasn't taking her with him. she was very clingy.
i normally try to make it a point of putting her mess of toys back in their corner every night before bed but i didn't last night. so this morning i was a little overwhelmed by the state of the house. not a good thing to wake up to. i spent about 20 minutes or so putting it all back in to order. gemma bulldozed right through it all within 5.
around 9 or so i attempted to feed her her cereal. she only has 3.5 teeth so she still gets a lot of mush. she did not want today's mush. after fighting with her for a few minutes and just making a huge mess, i gave up and just left her in her high chair while i went through the grocery ads to plan a shopping trip.
she went down for her nap around 1015 which gave me a chance to shower and load the dishwasher. you have to do this while she is napping because she wants to help. she likes to try to sneak in shoes. fortunately i catch this before i hit start.
after her 2 hour nap, i try to feed her lunch which consists of a smooshed banana sandwich. she normally loves it. not today. she was having no part in any of this. so i cleaned her up a bit, packed her bag, and loaded her up in the car for some errands.
as we were on our way to our first stop, the bank, daddy called and asked if we wanted to meet for lunch. during peak season this is a rare opportunity so we met him at chic-fil-a. gemma was so well behaved and scarfed her over priced strawberries and yogurt.
we then headed to fry's which was packed (is wednesday senior day?). again, gem was a doll and we made it through the shopping trip unscathed and home by 3.
for the next few hours we just played with toys or she would chase the dogs or danced to christmas music. i found myself dozing a little on the couch. she wouldn't let me get away with that and more than once i was awakened with a smack to the face.
on the weekends, she has been fighting the afternoon nap and instead goes to bed early. she did the same today. this time she started to fall asleep during dinner. i let her snooze for a little while i picked up around the house. then tubby by 630. then bedtime by 730.
lincoln won't be home until after 10. i don't think i will be able to stay up that late. i still need to put the house back together and i had hoped to have the tree set up. but i also did pick up the 3rd book of the hunger games series (i borrowed the first 2 from my brother benino and read them in a total of 5 hours - seriously - that good!) so maybe i will stay up too late again so i can read that...

I noticed that you have been using capital letters at the beginning of your sentences more, but today you reverted back to non-caps. Why the change? What does it mean? What does it mean!!
the ones with caps were typed in ms word while on my lunch break at work.
ya. so there!
Yes, the first Wednesday of every month is Senior Day at Fry's. I made the mistake of going once. Glad you made it out OK. =0)
You and Gemma will get in a good routine at home; it will take some adjustment time. I always say that I go to work to relax. People think that's weird, but I'm sure you now know what I mean. However, I do wish I could stay home. How needs to relax, right?! =0)
