week 1

well i've survived. i never said it would be an easy transition and gemma made sure it wasn't :) sitting at a desk all day is nothing compared to chasing a not even 1 year old who is one of the busiest children i have ever met. the things she is capable of never cease to amaze me. she practically did a running flip off the couch earlier today. luckily she was able to catch herself with one hand and slowly slide down the side safely. she likes to keep me on my toes.

the routine is the same. she is pretty consistent with her schedule. she has been nice and taken a few afternoon naps to let mommy rest up. still having problems with her eating her meals. she just doesn't want me to feed her anymore. it has to be something she can squeeze between her fingers and smear on her face.

every morning i start with a list. at first it was a list of things to do for the day. i have since wizened up and made it a list for the week. i do feel quite accomplished when i can check anything off the list.

for whatever reason, today was the hardest day yet. i don't know if she is sick of mommy time and misses the kids at daycare. if she didn't sleep well last night. or maybe she had a tummy ache. but she was the whiniest she has ever been. throwing herself down on the ground in little trantrums. luckily tomorrow we will be visiting with cousin vivia and aunt judy. hopefully that will help.

she also has decided that hitting the dogs and me is fun. i'm not too sure how to get her to realize that hitting just isn't nice. i've tried saying no. i've lightly smacked her hand. i've set her on the ground and walked away. but she still does it. she even clocked me with a calculator today.

i think i better go to bed early tonight. rest up. i have a feeling tomorrow is gonna be a long day :)

hang in there, I think they need to see new faces every once in awhile that's why my cranky baby boy becomes an angel when daddy gets home.

maybe over my winter break i'll take you up on that offer of the extra bed. and i'll gladly chase her around the house, give you a little break.

Clocked you with a calculator? Awe! She's a little accountant!
...Or an anti-accountant.
