13 months, 14 weeks, yadda yadda

my faithful reader (lincoln) requested a blog update. honestly, this is the last thing on my list of things to accomplish, but since he asked so nicely and even took a new picture of gemma, i felt it was only right to oblige.

gemma is 13 months and as perfect as ever.

she had a wonderful first real christmas and was more interested in the dogs new bones than her own presents. she received lots of great things for both her birthday and christmas. i had to do a little re-organizing and hid some stuff away to bring out in a few months. she hasn't even noticed.

she is somewhere between 26 and 27 lbs. growing like a weed. she is quite a good walker/runner but still does that drunk baby stumble, especially when she is tired.

she loves to eat. blueberries are her favorite, as well as the animal crackers from costco. she hardly eats any baby food anymore. her almost 6 teeth are working well for her.

we just started attending a playtime/storytime at the qc library (i've been out of globe for almost 10 years, and just barely got a library card). it was a lot of fun. sadly it is only 30 minutes, so i am looking into some valley playgroups or something. just so we both keep our sanity.

she loves to climb, dance, and read her books. she said her first full sentence a few weeks ago. i was leaving her in her crib for a nap and she looked at me with wide tear-filled eyes and said "no bye bye mama!"

i am (almost) 14 weeks pregnant with surprise baby h2.

a huge reason behind my lack of energy when it comes to getting things accomplished is the fact that i am carrying sweet baby h2. shock of a lifetime, let me tell ya! it was just like in the movies when the girl is looking over her calendar and doing that "math". although i was looking at the calendar in my phone (isn't technology great?). according to my calculations, i was 5 weeks pregnant. i mentioned to lincoln, and he gave me a look. then said wait a little while longer. i lasted 2 days before i took a test. and it was instantly positive. so i took another. i think i took 5 altogether.

i called the dr the next day and scheduled an appointment. we wanted to wait until we got the all ok from the doc before sharing the news with the fam. but the appointment was a week away. so we decided to tell them at thanksgiving (i would be 7 weeks). we waited until 10-11 weeks to share the news about gem, but this was such a miracle i really wanted my mom and dad to know.

saw the doc (got lots of looks rolling gem in her stroller at the office), saw the baby, and saw the littlest flutter of a heartbeat. love at first sight. doc told me to give linc a high five.

went home and made a shirt for gemma that said "i'm going to be a big sister" for her to wear at the navarro thanksgiving. the plan was to have my mom take gemma's jacket off and see it. but we got there an hour before my mom was home from church. so poor gem was stuck in her big ol' jacket. but it was all worth it.

linc shared with his mom by asking her how many grandkids she has then pointed to my belly and said "so that one makes 25?" it was priceless.

i haven't gained any weight yet (morning sickness for 13.5 weeks, just like gem) but the belly popped out already. and so did my belly buttom. eeewwww. but i'll cherish every moment.

yadda yadda.

things worth noting:

i just planted 4 rose bushes. i love rose bushes. we'll see how they turn out.

i've had a library card for less than 2 weeks and have already checked out 5 books. i'm going to start a list on the side with my opinions.

i need help getting gem to take milk out of sippy cup. she'll drink water out of it fine but acts like the milk is poisoned. any tips?
