what a weekend!
friday - was supposed to meet up with my fellow accountant friend for a drink or two after work while linc met up with his fellow upsers at the dirty drummer. he calls me in the afternoon and says he doesn't think he'll go. and since i haven't seen him all week, i ask amy for a rain check. around 5:30 - 6pm, linc calls and says he is going to go after all with gay steve and the moat. i was pretty pissed...
so i watched pride and prejudice again. i was too worn out to go out anyway but still, i would have rathered linc was home with me.
so got over it saturday morning. we started our saturday chores and then watched ghostbusters. it amazes me how pervy some things are in that movie and it was one of my favorites as a kid. after the movie we wandered costco home store for fun, then headed out to our future homesite to pick up the list of available upgrades and to look at the models again.
then we headed over to taylor & erin's for some swimming and bbqing. always a good time shooting the shizz with erin. we just watched some mtv while the boys tinkered with pool stuff. then we had a wild wind storm come flying through. we cooked up some meat on the grill, and this time actually remembered the veggies to go with it.
then we finally went out to the pool after their two kids were asleep. the other 2 were at larry and susan's for cousin camp. we had a blast out in the pool. we stayed out there until 1:30am at least. just drinking some corona and listening to erin and lincoln play name that tune. then k-fed came over and was a little too rowdy for my taste. we were all dancing all wild to shakira... :) craziness ensued.
headed home late and slept in on sunday. did some laundry and then ate at casa rey. lounged around the apartment after that then headed over to b&j's for some dinner. nice laidback evening.
did a little grocery shopping on the way home then called it a night.
good weekend.
house progress -
we are the only ones on the list for the lot. and it is a perfect time frame. it seriously has been all i can think about. we decided to go with added the fourth bedroom instead of the study, which also adds a 3rd full bath. the interior upgrades are a bit confusing and some things seem so pricey. but we have plenty of time for that stuff. i am just so excited!!! i can't wait for the model homes to completely be done just so you can get a better feel of the possibilities.
i think it is the accountant in me but i tend to over analyze things. but linc says that is what he loves about me, how thorough i can be. sometimes i drive myself crazy just thinking of a thousand different scenarios. like today at work i spend like 30-45 minutes making notes about our financial goals and various options.
i was playing around in our computer program quicken when i got home from work and i found a bunch of neat "calculators." i set up a debt reduction plan and you can see just how long it will take to have zero debt (not counting those wretched student loans). and i also set up savings goals for the earnest money, and it tells you just how much you need to put in when in order to reach the goal. so friggin awesome. and then i set up some fake accounts in quicken to control our budget better to meet these savings goals and debt reduction plans. i called lincoln like 20 times cuz i was so proud of myself.
well i have some laundry to put away and i have to go into work early tomorrow for some sales tax training so i better get my lunch made tonight and my stupid work clothes ironed.
