we got some great news today! the sales lady with fulton homes called and said that the starting price of our house dropped $14k!!!!! so in essence, that means we can get a bigger house now for the same price of the smaller one, actually even cheaper because the bigger house comes with the 4th bedroom, as well as the study and the loft, and we would have had to convert the study into the 4th bedroom and pay $3500 to do so. plus with the bigger house we also get the formal dining room and front living room as well as the family room! crazy!!!!! i am so flippin excited! plus we lucked out, the bigger house can go on the lot we have our name on already and in the elevation we liked! we are going to go back out to the models tomorrow and go over the bigger house to see if it is really what we want.
the choice now is whether we want 300 sqft more for less than what we were originally gonna pay or do we go with the smaller house, convert a room, and then upgrade the heck out of it.
we were going to try to keep the upgrades to a certain price range and if we go with the bigger house that gives us $3500 more to play with in upgrades.
really the choice seems obvious... but its a big house... do we really need that big of a house? especially for a first home. when we go out there tomorrow we are really gonna have to pay attention to yard sizes too. i think the lot we have our names on is bigger than the model home lots so we need to consider that too. plus, there is a chance that the prices may still come down. the news keeps talking about how there is such a backlog of houses for sale right now, the highest in years (maybe even ever!).

and i have so many other things to post here. had a fabulous friday evening and a great saturday morning. and tonight we are going to a fancy restaurant to celebrate our one year!
