every love letter written is another one burned

it's been awhile. sorry. lack of motivation.

a lot has been happening but nothing that two of my loyal readers don't already know since i see them all the friggin time (which is a good thing, don't get me wrong).

house news:

no word on the permit. city of queen creek is taking their sweet beep time.

did the "colorization" for the house - flooring, hardware, cabinets, fixtures, wiring, etc. did a decent job staying in our budget for the most part. most of the standard stuff was pretty sweet to begin with. basically we just upgraded the appliances (because really, those aren't gonna need to be replaced in the near future, might as well get good stuff), the flooring (not a big fan of vinyl) with 18" tile in bathrooms, kitchen, breakfast nook, downstairs hallways, and laundry room, upgraded the carpet pad throughout the house and slightly upgraded the carpet, got some nice 36" maple cabinets in sable with the crown moulding on the top, satin nickel door knobs throughout the house, and then the wiring. linc went a little wild with the wiring, but i can't blame him. i wouldn't want to have to go back and do that all later. he got the 5.1 surround sound system built into the ceiling, speakers in 4 main rooms for music and what not.

so that's that. all we have left to do is wait. and i hate waiting. i want the house now and i want furniture and paint colors and new kitchen stuff and all my new appliances. i don't want to wait.

on to other things...

today is turkey day. not really my favorite holiday. i love the food and seeing the fam. but holidays can be a lot of hassle. not a fan of hassle. i made four pies last night. pretty much tradition now. i believe it was last year when i made 7 or 8. but that was for linc's side. it's quite a bit bigger than mine. i made the standard 2 pumpkin pies. then i attempted one called "strawberry chiffon". i don't even know what chiffon means. it is pretty much a homemade strawberry jelly/jello substance with hand whipped (yes i did it by hand) cream. looks weird but what i licked off my fingers tasted good. very strawberry like. i also made a grasshopper pie. this one is pretty much whipped cream (from the tub, i may be ambitious, but not that ambitious) with whipped cream cheese that i did whip myself and sweet milk and green food coloring (which i was too afraid of, so the pie its a very light green) and crushed grasshopper cookies, which are my absolute most favorite cookie. looks like it will be good. came out very pretty.

linc is off running the turkey trot right now. i wanted to this year but when we "trained" i got these terrible leg pains all the way from the heel up to the back of my knee and on my shins too. i think it has something to do with the way my foot lands when i run, kinda curves out. once it started hurting i went back to just walking the track. we haven't been doing that for the last few weeks. linc's been busy and i'm a scaredy cat. our neighborhood isn't the safest, someone might steal me. and the track we run at is poorly lit. but i better grow a pair so i can get in shape. i think i might hit the apartment's "fitness center" today, which is a joke. but they did have a bike i liked. then i will do some pilates so i will feel a little less guilty for that 4th slice of pie i eat.

linc's busy season starts tomorrow. he will be working 60 hour weeks until christmas. at least i don't have finals this season. that always sucked. i had a limited amount of time to spend with him and i had to do class work too. no more :) we aren't exchanging gifts this year. i think we already gave each other a great one - this fabulous house. top of my christmast list.

nothing else "new". i'm sure i could sit here and ramble on and on but i'm tired and don't want to. besides nobody posts anymore anyway. seems like blogging is sooo passe.

happy thanksgiving. remember to be truly thankful and count your blessings. then have some more pie. i made four.

love.
