christmas time is just around the corner. does anyone else feel like this year just disappeared? it's gonna be 2007 before ya know it. kinda depressing...
got my christmas shopping all done. have all the presents wrapped and under my 4ft fake plastic tree. i didn't buy bows this year so i tied ribbon around the boxes. big mistake. token has ripped all the ribbons off. he and rufus are fascinated with the tree. first time for the both of them. rufus listens when you tell him to get down but token is the most stubbornest little booger ever.
tokey goes to get neutered in a couple days. he will also get his front paws declawed. he is such a naught kitty. linc calls him "my boy" and lets him get away with things that rufus would never dream of. like sleeping on lincoln's wobie.
i was feeling a little "bah humbug". not really feeling the christmas spirit. so that's why i got a tree this year. it's the first time i've had a tree since i graduated high school. it is really cute. we played christmas music and decorated it with balls and santas and snowmen and bows. it was weird because it was in the high seventies outside and we were listening to christmas carols. good ol' az.
i think later that night we stayed up late and bought a bunch of old 90's slow jams off i-tunes. i love i-tunes. like right now i am listening to sinead o'connor's nothing compares 2 u. old school.
my mind is so scattered right now.
anyway - back to christmas. this year will be tricky. we are doing the hansen side on the 17th and the navarro side on the 26th when we go to flagstaff. so what to do on the 24th and 25th? i was going to do a small christmas eve dinner here for me and linky. we got a ups turkey this year that i don't want to waste. then we will have a small christmas morning deal with breakfast and presents. but then what? it'll be the first time with out being with the rents. it's not like we have any children (sad face) to watch open their toys with anxious hands. we might do a gibson side thing on christmas night. just don't know. we'll probably just watch movies all weekend like we normally do. better make them christmas themed just to be on the safe side.
then new year's eve. geez. too many holidays all at once. i'll need a vacation from my vacation. i am looking forward to the cabin. i hope its fun. i'm just not really feeling up for it though.
i think part of my sad faced-ness (so not a real word) is partly due to the fact that linc and i are baby-less after a year of "trying". i kinda thought it would only take a few months and then when it didn't, we kinda stopped trying. kinda sorta. benny cover your eyes. haha. kidding. but now it has officially been a full year and that technically, for a couple our age, means we are infertile. or just plain unlucky. god has a plan, i'm sure. just which we were looking in the same playbook.
i always had a life plan. even when i was just a wee one. i wanted to be married by 22. check. degreed by 22. check (off by what? 2 1/2 months?). first child by 24. no check. and that is just over 2 months away. hmmph. i don't wanna talk about it any more. sad face.
i think i better start listening to some more upbeat music. i have "Mel's Sweet Shizzle" playlist playing from i-tunes right now. righteous brothers. geez. no wonder i am a big wah wah.
i'm gonna hit the hay.
love.

Egad must be happy! Your time will come when you need it - maybe it'll happen once you get closer to moving in to the new house!5
There's a country song that says, "If you want to hear God laugh tell Him your plans." I believe that is absolutely true! I'm like you with the planning and when it doesn't happen my way, I get frustrated! I will continue to pray for you and Linc to become parents real soon!
