lincoln and i have lived in this new house since august of last year. guess how many pieces of furniture we have purchased for this new house? keep in mind we lived in a one bedroom apartment that basically had two rooms: the bedroom and the living room/dining room/office.
when we first moved in we bought a tv stand to go with the giant tv we bought (you can see where our priorities are). so that was piece #1.
we just finally bought our first new couch together (all our other stuff is hand me downs or purchased used). it is dark brown soft leather loveseat and sofa with a wedge to make it a sectional. we basically selected a couch on the fact that it would be the easiest to get dog hair off of.
lincoln and i have attempted to purchase a new couch probably 5+ times (each time i tell the story that number goes up). probably 4 of the 5 times we have ended up in the same store looking at the same couch. but something always makes us change our mind.
but last weekend we did it. and it is fabulous. now i am so excited to start decorating the family room. i kept putting it off because i wanted what i picked to go with the couch.
my goal is to have the downstairs done by the one year anniversary of us moving in - mid august. i have a lot of work ahead of me.
pt update:
i have completed 3 weeks of therapy. my leg is less achy (and the less i wear heels the better) and my foot is less numb. not 100% better but some improvement. my therapist thinks i will benefit from a few more weeks of therapy. i go back to the foot dr. in 2 weeks. i'm pretty sure i don't want to get the surgery, too scary. if anyone watched the grey's anatomy season finale on thursday, they performed an emergency fasciotomy and it was the most traumatizing thing i have ever witnessed. if i did the surgery it wouldn't be that bad, but still, i am scarred for life now.
therapy is actually sorta fun. i enjoy the company of all the workers and most of the patients (there are some characters, lemme tell ya!). i'm getting a good workout and learning some good moves to strengthen my legs, plus they like to throw in some ab workouts just because they can.
i'm feeling optimistic and have now seriously started to consider joining a gym. i just don't know which one...

hey Melanie. Good to hear from you. If you guys need to get rid of anything with all the improvements, you know who to dump them off on;)
