changed woman

the other weekend i was over at my friend's house and she commented on the size of my jeans. i've lost some weight but hadn't bought any new jeans to compensate. lincoln occasionally will make comments about the sagging in the rear but if it was up to him, he'd probably prefer me prancing around in spandex or something practically painted on.

but my friend grabbed the back of my pants and proceeded to drag me to her closet where she pulled out all kinds of jeans and insisted i try on a pair. i did. and they fit beautifully. she then paraded me around the kitchen where our guys were standing and had them examine the better fitting pair. yes, it was as embarrassing as it sounds.

but i was motivated.

i have a slight denim phobia. i used to absolutely hate buying jeans, even in my skinny-minny days. i would find a brand that worked, buy 3 colors, and wear them till they literally had holes in the butt. levis, then american eagle, then old navy.

so i dragged lincoln to nordstrom's the following day. apparently nordstrom's is the place to go for a good pair of jeans. problem: lincoln isn't going to honestly tell me whether or not these jeans make my butt look big out of fear i will lash out at him for his truthfulness. we left without buying anything.

i realized it was time to enlist the big guns - my sweet sister in law erin, who always has the best looking jeans.

yesterday we ventured to nordstrom's and she led me around like a personal shopper, starting in the lower end and working our way up. she was wise to keep me clear of the "expensive" stuff.
i probably had 8+ pairs to try on. and most of them fit. and fit well. and of course, the 2 most expensive ones i had picked were the best looking ones. never fails.

being vertically challenged, i did have to leave 2 pairs at the store for alterations. but i am so excited to get them back and prance around for every one to take a look.

after the denim quest was complete, we wandered down to the MAC counter. erin was in the market for some new eye shadows and the sales girl was awesome. she almost had me buying some outrageous green liquid stuff.

lucky for lincoln, i kept my cool and did not buy any makeup. besides, i'm a sephora kinda girl. bare minerals all the way.

but i almost lost it in the shoe section. that could've been bad news. thankfully erin was there to keep me on the straight and narrow.

hilarious, the straight and narrow.

I wonder if I'd be as smitten with those fancy jeans. It's probably best I never go near them.
