once home i wandered throughout the house looking for lincoln to let him know i was back. i went into our bedroom only to be greeted with a huge bouquet of roses.
did i not mention that yesterday was august 2nd, aka our anniversary? yup, yesterday we celebrated 3 years of marriage and 11 years of togetherdom. so in this beautiful ginormous vase of flowers, there was 3 white roses (for the years of marriage, sweet lincoln) and 11 red roses. plus a sentimental handwritten card. i was going to share but i don't want to embarrass lincoln.
then after a quick shower (sunbathing is hard work), we got ready for our big day. first on the agenda was dinner (late lunch technically) at our favorite mexican food restaurant, casa reynoso. globe-miami mexican food without the drive (although it costs 2x as much and i swear the burros have shrunk).
after putting back on the 5 lbs lost in spin class, we stopped at QT for water and ice cream. we knew we had a long hot afternoon ahead of us and were going to need it.
our next stop was the mesa ampitheater. we saw paramore (and guests) and had a fabulous time. not exactly lincoln's type of music but according to him, he really enjoyed it because i enjoyed it. yes, he was in perfect husband mode yesterday. it was incredibly hot and humid and sweaty and nasty, but the bands were excellent (one band seriously used every musical instrument known to man, i honestly thought they were going to bust out the australian dijerdoo), the crowd made for some hilarious mock conversations between lincoln and myself, and the refreshments purchased were quite refreshing.
we returned home to our traditional anniversary treat of strawberries, mini cheesecakes, and champagne.
all in all it was an absolutely fabulous saturday!
hot and sweaty (and yes we both got haircuts and lincoln de-bearded)
paramore "the final riot" tour
sweet roses
sweet treats (i ate one piece of cheesecake before i thought to take a picture)

Happy Anniversary!! It seems that Lincoln and Talmage walked away with the romantic genes from this family. (J/K--Spencer knows how to pour it on strong every once in a while!) Anyway, sounds like it was a great day start to finish. And those strawberries look oh so good.
