yesterday lincoln and i went to the state fair. last time i went was at least 10 years ago. and i don't think i will go back for another 10 years or so. not much there but ghetto fabulousness, rigged games with crap prizes, and fatty-fat-fat fried food.
our main reason for going was the weezer concert. we paid extra for reserved seating, which was soo worth it. i absolutely love weezer. and lincoln is a fan as well. and the weeze did not disappoint. it was one of the best shows i've ever seen. the band is so entertaining. and it was really cool to see that the 4 members all switch off between singing and playing different instruments. and rivers - the main guy - was so wild, jumping on a little trampoline, going for a ride in the crowd on a security guy's shoulders all while playing his guitar. they even had 35 local people on stage with them for 2 songs playing all kinds of different instruments: flutes, trumpets, cellos, xylophones, maracas. it was awesome. those horns could wail!
and an added bonus at the fair was the rock band exhibit. lincoln and i performed twice for a live audience. once with lincoln on guitar, me on bass, and some random greasy kid on drums. then after the weezer show, we played with the full band. linc rocking guitar, dusty wailing on the drums, kimmy grooving on the bass, and me working the mic. it was a lot of fun.

Ahaha this post cracked me up. And I'm jealous about Weezer, I've been listening to more and more of their stuff lately, they're great. That would've been hilarious if they really did fry Snickers there (albeit disgusting) but I wouldn't be surprised.
