fine brian. i will "blog that!"

saturday was one of those ideal days. wake up at a reasonable hour to a wonderful and noisy rain storm. open all the blinds in the house to let in that beautiful grey sky. take a midday nap knowing that we still have 2 more days of "weekend."

poor college benny. had to stay in tucson and go to a UA football game and live it up "uni-style".

then we topped saturday off with a trip out to lo-lo's for some fried chicken, plate-size waffles with a hint of cinnamon, and a big ol' jar of red drank (super sweet kool-aid). it was quite tasty.

but.... i was still recovering from friday's glucose test. my body had no idea what to do with all that sugar! after lounging about at brian & judy's till late, home we went. lincoln was still on a sugar high and decided to see what his "frieeennddsss" were doing. i ended up literally passing out on the couch with the worst stomach ache and head ache ever. sweet baby h was in a sugar coma.

finally around 2am lincoln calls it a night and we head upstairs. i remind him that we need to get up around 6 to make it to kearney for the baby blessing. 6am rolls around and i am literally dragging him out of bed.

the blessing gathering was a good time. there was a plethora of pastries and it took every ounce of will power to avoid the krispy kreme donuts, the dunkin donuts, the cinnamon rolls, the cherry danishes, etc. i'm not saying i didn't partake in any of the goodies, just not as much as i might have been inclined to if that jar of drank wasn't still running through my veins.

on the drive home, poor lincoln was starting to feel the effects of his late night. as soon as we arrived home, he crawled into bed and was out. my AI brother brian was going to swing by in the evening to help lincoln with the stupid, stupid shelves. i don't know if any one remembers lincoln from his pre-loading days at ups. if you ever tried to talk to him once he hit his deep sleep stage, it was like talking to a completely different, very mean, person. yesterday was no different.

i tried unsuccessfully to wake him up. he would mumble the weirdest things like "why are you doing this to me?" or "how did you find out?"

wonder what he was dreaming about.

so brian and judy left after getting me past a difficult part in the shelf building stage. one that required the brawn only an AI could provide.

5 minutes after they pull out of the driveway, drunk lincoln stumbles down the stairs with his sleepy face and i put him to work. a few hours later and the shelves are done. and they look amazing. eventually i will get the whole room up to par. but this is a nice start. and of course, they are practically all filled. i have a few books out on loan and once those come back in, the shelves will be complete.

now lincoln is wide awake and he decides to build the dresser i picked out for the baby's room. it is 11pm by now and i am pretty tired. but i've learned in these past several years to take advantage of lincoln's wild hair. so a dresser we built. took us until almost 2am. and somehow we are missing a screw. nothing crucial but odd. i think target gipped us.

here are some pictures of the completed projects:

sweet eleroo - i got him 20+ years ago. my favorite doll ever. i was cleaning him up and lincoln said, "don't do that. our kid will have perfect immunity!"

Runnin the show, that's what I do! All you had to do was drop down, do 20 pushups, and the shelves would put themselves together. Magic.

All of you did such a good job with the shelves. I never would have guessed you had books missing! And the baby's room...it's beautiful! I love it! You guys did an amazing job!

Good job on painting. I have to rely on wild hairs to ever do stuff like that, and I rarely get them.
Also, Lincoln is so guuurrUMPY!

The selves give it a library feel. Those strips in the babies probably took forever. Doesn't having a nursery all set make you excited to see the little one.
