calder - one month

my sweet little boy is one month old today. i did some at home measurements and he weighs 12lbs and is about 23 inches long (started at 8lb12oz and 21.5in). gemma was 12lbs at 1 month as well, even though she started at 9lb6oz. when calder had his 2 month check up he was just over 9lbs and fell in the 50% for weight, 90% for height.

he is doing really well. he is pretty calm. sleeps a lot during the day. still working on a night routine. he hates to be wrapped and kicks off his covers. he doesn't like the bassinet and spends half the night in his vibrating chair, the other half in bed with me. he doesn't like his carseat.

he never took to nursing no matter how hard i tried. so he is a b-milk bottle baby.

gemma is doing just great with the new addition. she won't say his name, just calls him "ze bebeh". she sneaks in kisses and tries to be helpful. we are working on her gentleness.

it's amazing the little things you have to re-learn for the second child. how to hold, to burp, the never-ending diaper changes, the late nights.

but it has been amazing. i love my little bug.
