gemma - 20 months

lil miss gemma is now 20 months. at her 18 month checkup, she measured like a 3 year old. almost 3ft tall and 30lbs. she was a riot at her appointment. she watched the dr very suspiciously then after he was done, she mimicked his every move with all his tools.

she is quite the mimic. we have to be careful what we do and say around her because she will repeat it later when you are least expecting it.

she is still very active and very smart. she can point to her picture books and tell us what the object is. she loves to watch elmo, yo gabba gabba, and caillou. she even knows how to work lincoln's phone to get to netflix. she is a good eater. almost too good. wants to eat all the time.

she has been sleeping in her big girl bed for awhile. she loves to have her dada take her "ni-nite" and sing her songs.

at her last appointment the dr confirmed she has an abdominal hernia and referred us to a ped surgeon. she had that appointment yesterday and it turns out she has 2 hernias. one abdominal and one umbilical. she will be having surgery next week.

i am terrified. not of the surgery - real simple, they do them all the time - but of her having to go under.
