a little humor for the day

just wanted to document somewhere so i wouldn't forget

since i've had latch issues with the kids and breastfeeding, i have resorted to pumping. so gemma witnesses this several times a day. often times she will come up to me and point and ask what's that? then she tells me it is my boo (boob) and bebeh (baby's) milk (while doing the sign for milk). a few times she offers to help by holding the bottles as i pump.

the other day i had the pump parts drying on the counter. gemma grabbed one, put it to her chest, and said bebeh milk, and nodded all matter of fact like.

gemma was at the table coloring. calder was in his playpen fussing. i asked gemma - what's wrong with calder? she said - i don't know, he's a BABY!

as is common with toddlers, gemma was poking around her "parts". i moved her hand and said don't touch your bum (it's all bum down there for now). she said something like pee and i said - right, that's where you go pee, she said - no, go baby!

calder has a pattern for when he gets mad. first his fists start pumping, then his legs start kicking, then he arches his back, then yells. it's pretty funny to watch. plus you know his level of anger.

after having calder, i dropped a good twenty plus pounds. but i still have quite a bit left and still some from having gemma. but i have been working really hard the last few weeks to whittle it down a healthy way. lincoln was sitting across the room from me one night while i was feeding the boy and he asked if i was making a face. i said no, puzzled. he continued staring and then said, well you have a dimple on your face, high up. i looked in a mirror and hey, it's my cheekbone! they have finally reappeared! no more super round prego face.
