it's been one loooonnng year

dec 1st marked the one year anniversary of my departure from the corporate world to stay home with my daughter. i had just found out i was expecting baby #2 and knew i was in for an adventure.

i've been thinking about this post all week. how i could be all clever and wise and talk about what i've learned so far about staying home.

it is exactly how i though it would be and at the same time, totally different.

i tell myself this on a regular basis (this may even be one of those dang facebook "re-post this if you..."):

my kitchen may be messy but that means my family isn't hungry.

my living room may be constantly cluttered with toys but that means gemma had fun.

changing diapers may be endless but that means my kids are well nourished.

laundry takes forever but that means my family has clothes to keep them warm.

i am always tired but that means gemma knows mommy will always come when she is scared at night and calder knows mommy will come when he needs his snuggles.

i may not get to see lincoln as often as i would like but that means he is out working hard to provide all this for us.

i wouldn't have been able to do this without the support of my wonderful husband and my family. and the other mommy friends i made in my meet up group.

maybe someday i will get to the point where my house is always spotless. i'll have time for all those projects listed on my "project board". i can try out some new recipes.

but for now i am just going to enjoy my time with my young ones. gemma is learning so many new things everyday. she is almost potty trained. she counted to 13 today. she is working hard on her abcs. and she hasn't even turned 2. buddy is rolling over all the time. he just started really jumping in his bouncer. he loves to play with toys and squeal and giggle.

I loved this post. Couldn't have said it better myself.
